The new iPad 3 - better than ever!

It is here – the new iPad from Apple (they dropped the number so it is simply an iPad but would be version Nr. 3). And because Apple has some very clever marketing people launch day was a massive event all over the world. Big queues were formed outside the Stores - everyone wanted to be the first one to hold the very new iPad. Promotion T-shirts were given away as well as Apples to 'feed' the waiting masses.

So - what is the big fuss about it?
According to the Apple website the new iPad is better, faster, nicer and even more fantastic than the one before (yes - it is possible!).

What is new is the Retina display which looks even more clear and 'lifelike'. A new 5-mega pixel camera takes 'the best photos ever' and the wireless connection is so fast one can barely keep up.

According to their website they have created the ne plus ultra in tablet technology - soon the iPad 4 will also make you coffee and automatically cook dinner for you.
What do the computer experts have to say about it then? Is it as good as it is made out to be?
Walt Mossberg, from AllThingsD, has reviewed the new iPad in a video:

Overall he is talking very positively about the tablet and seems highly pleased with the changes Apple made. His conclusion is: it is better than all the other tablets and the previous iPads and he would recommend buying it to everyone who wants/needs a tablet.

Other Reviews also keep saying that the iPad has been improved a lot and is now on top of the league of all the tablets again. New York Times features a very good review as well as Jason Snell's review for the Macworld website.

Overall the reviews are highly positive - especially the long lasting batteries, the new brilliant display and the new, high quality camera stand out as major improvements.

In the UK prices start at £399 for the basic version with 16GB and go up to £599 for the 64GB version. And this is where (at least for me) the big problem is: for years I wanted to buy the iPad (1, then 2 and now I desperately want the very new one!) but it is a big investment for a tablet that does not play DVDs, does not have a real key board and is not small enough to just pop it into you trouser pocket. Rationality keeps me from buying the iPad, because 'I do have a laptop, it would only be a very expensive toy'.

However - after reading and hearing about it it might be time to stop listening to rationality for once and hop onto the iPad- bandwagon.

For everyone who needs a little help with their love life or just some flirting practice the new iPad is now also offering a SpeedFirting App - finding other singles on a super brilliant screen in high speed - Perfect!

Please let me know what you think about the iPad(s) - have you got one already? Was buying one a good decision or more a waste of money?! I'd love to get some feedback - maybe it will help me making my decision.
